Children are our future. Children will bring about the positive changes our world so desperately needs. I want to be a part of that story.

I became a teacher because I wanted to help kids see their potential to change the world for the better. I wanted to be an advocate and mentor for kids whose voices get lost in the chaos of day to day life. Now that I've been teaching for 13 years, my why has continued to grow and expand. As a special education teacher, my goal is to help close the educational and social gaps my students may have so that they have the best chance to be successful in all avenues of life.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWe were about to take a test when one of my students told me they had a problem accessing it. When I fixed the problem my student told me, "Woah that was fast!" When I responded with, "That's because I'm a master," he said, "Yeah. You're a masterpiece." The day before this interaction, I was told my mom's Dementia was getting worse and I was feeling extremely down. My student telling me I was a masterpiece made me realize that I have a purpose that is larger than myself.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I received $25,000 I would start college funds for each of my three children and take my family on a vacation.
