I love teaching because I enjoy helping people, particularly the underserved people in my community. I work to lift them up.

I love learning and I want to share my love of learning with my students and give them encouragement they might not otherwise receive.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI once had two ESL students who made me a Valentine's Day card with their message likely translated through Google Translate. It was a nice gesture. They shared their appreciation of my efforts to help them succeed as they didn't receive the assistance they needed elsewhere. I intentionally conduct my classroom in a manner that provides more benefit to students who need additional support. This gesture reminded me that my efforts are appreciated.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would invest it in broad-based index funds with relatively low risk and use the interest gained on the funds to buy instructional materials for my students. I would only use the interest gained and never the principal; therefore, turning the grant into a type of endowment that could provide funds for students in perpetuity.
