Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a teacher. I would set up my baby dolls and stuffed animals and have class in my bedroom. Just as parents find excitement in watching their children learn new things, as a teacher I enjoy watching my students learn new skills.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI was teaching second grade and I had a male student who was shy, displayed behavior issues, and was at least a grade level behind. By the end of the school year, this student had overcome his behavior challenges and had become more sociable. He was also making great strides academically. This student helped me realize the importance of making personal connections with students.
What would you do with the $25,000?Part of the money would go toward purchasing items for my classroom. What teacher wouldn’t use some of it toward classroom items? The rest would go toward college debt and college tuition as I would like to earn my Educational Keadership endorsement. It would be amazing to do this without more debt.
