Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to help others, serve my community, and be a positive role model in young people’s lives. Teaching allows me to give back to God for all His blessings. As a child, I dreamed of having my own classroom, and that calling grew stronger as I got older. I love working with children—their innocence, creativity, and energy inspire me to be a better person. Teaching gives me purpose and the opportunity to positively impact the future.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My entire 15-year teaching career has been filled with memorable moments, making it hard to choose just one. Past students regularly reach out or visit my classroom, offering their support and showing gratitude. The love and encouragement I’ve received from them and their families has been humbling. I’ve had countless opportunities to impact the lives of hundreds of children, and each one has contributed to a career full of joy, connection, and lasting memories.

What would you do with the $25,000?

After my father passed away from cancer, my family and I decided to move cross country to start fresh, but we’ve faced financial struggles along the way. With the $25,000, I would put the money into my three sons' college savings. Moving and adjusting has drained our funds, and this would help secure their futures, giving them the opportunity for a better education and ensuring they have the support they need as they pursue their dreams.
