Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher so that I could help those kids that felt like nobody cared about them. I wanted them to know that no matter what, someone would always be there rooting for them and would do whatever it took to help them succeed. I want to show them that I will always put them first and find different ways that tailor to their learning styles. I have many family members in the education field and I wanted to be someone that kids looked back and say, “she was one of my favorite teachers”

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have been teaching 9 years and have taught 3 different grade levels. I have had so many experiences over the years and have enjoyed learning new teaching techniques as I go along. My most memorable teaching experience was being able to teach a class twice. I had them in 2nd grade and then again in 4th grade. It was an honor to be their teacher twice and help them to continue growing and succeeding. I loved being able to help them grow and hearing that they remembered things I had taught them.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put it towards furthering my education. I want to be better myself as a teacher so that I can continue helping students. I feel like it’s important as a teacher to continue learning ourselves. I would also help my family as some health conditions can be costly. I take pride in what I do and in helpings others around me. I also just got married, so would love to take a trip just me and my husband! :)
