Growing up, I was inspired by teachers who fueled my curiosity and encouraged me to think critically. “Bill Nye Days” sparked my love for science, showing me that it’s about discovery and understanding the world. During challenging times, my teachers created a safe space where I could thrive. Their impact inspired me to become a teacher, combining my passion for science with a desire to guide and mentor students. I strive to ignite curiosity and foster a love of learning in my classroom.

One of my most memorable teaching moments was when a former AP Biology student, who had struggled in my class, returned to share her success in college. She told me how my teaching prepared her to excel in her science courses and gave her confidence in her abilities. Hearing how her perseverance and the foundation we built together helped her thrive reminded me why I teach—to make a lasting impact and help students realize their potential, even when the journey is tough.

My husband and I dream of having a child of our own, but we’ve faced many challenges in conceiving. IVF is our best chance to grow our family due to my health, but the costs are significant.
