It's about the joy of seeing a student's eyes light up when they grasp a new concept and the satisfaction of knowing I’ve played a part in shaping their future. I chose this path because I believe in the power of education to transform lives and communities. Teaching allows me to share my love for writing, ignite curiosity, and foster a lifelong love of learning in my students. Moreover, It's about building relationships and creating a supportive environment where students feel valued.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was during a writing unit when I shared a memoir I had written. The students were deeply engaged and felt a strong connection to the story. This sparked their interest in learning more about writing, mastering proper techniques, and expressing themselves effectively. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to improve their writing skills were incredibly rewarding, highlighting the profound impact that personal storytelling can have in the classroom.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would prioritize paying off debt to achieve financial stability. Next, I would ensure my daughter has a great start to her first year of college, covering tuition, books, and other essentials. Finally, I would plan something fun and memorable for my son, perhaps a special trip or an activity he loves, to create lasting memories and celebrate our achievements together.
