I became a teacher to make a difference in children’s lives, not just academically, but as a whole person. I knew first hand that kids needed someone who respected them, listened to them and then taught them and I felt that I had those capabilities instilled into me.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceEvery single day is memorable! I would have to say that the most memorable would be that during Covid, when we were remote teaching, our staff planned a graduation drive up parade for our Pre-k students. This parade was over the top! We announced each student as they rode up with their parents, as we wore masks and handed them their diplomas and treat bags we had made for them. I can remember crying under my mask. Every single student smiled proudly. I made a difference that year and it showed!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would buy more materials for my classroom, take a vacation, get a massage and donate some to a scholarship fund for local students.
