Tell us why you became a teacher

Growing up, I saw how much my mom valued learning. She believed that knowledge opened doors and that every child deserved the opportunity to succeed. She wasn’t a classroom teacher, but in many ways, she was the best educator I’ve ever known. Whether she was helping with homework, encouraging curiosity, or teaching life lessons through everyday moments, she made learning meaningful. Seeing how she nurtured and supported me sparked my desire to do the same for others.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was helping a young girl go from dreading school to absolutely loving it. The year before she came to my class, she cried outside her classroom every single day, refusing to go in. When I became her teacher, I made it my mission to show her how much fun learning and school could be. Through patience, encouragement, and creating a warm, engaging classroom environment, I watched her transform. No more tears—just smiles, excitement about learning!

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000, I would put it toward my two young kids’ college education. Giving them a strong financial foundation for their future is incredibly important to me, and I want to ensure they have the opportunity to pursue their dreams without the burden of student debt. Education opens so many doors, and just like I encourage my students to love learning, I want to provide my own children with the resources they need to succeed. Investing in their future would be the best use of that money!
