Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a Paraprofessional when I was growing up school was very hard. So with that I thought I want to give back and have those students that struggle let them know I can relate. I want to help them be successful. I feel if I can reach out to one a year, and have them change their mind about staying in school. I helped them I have succeeded. I see them out in the community being successful my heart is happy.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable was when a student asked me to teach him how to write his name in cursive. So we took several days so he could write his name in cursive. Later in the year in his composition notebook he said if it wasn’t for Mrs. Strobbe he would never had finish school if it wasn’t for me. I cried with excitement.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would make sure the student that can’t afford snow gear has it so they don’t get cold. I would make sure we have extras school supplies and put this in our food pantry.
