I truly enjoy pouring into my students. As a PE teacher my greatest joy is teaching a student a new skill and building their self-confidence

I knew in second grade I wanted to be a teacher. When I got to high school I wasn’t sure which subject I loved most. When I got to college and took a career test, it suggested teaching Health and PE. I had never thought about that. I decided then that I wanted to teach and coach.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere are so many great memories from my 19 years teaching. One of the most memorable experiences was coaching my cheerleading squad during the 2019-20 season. That squad was one of the most talented groups of athletes I had ever coached and they taught me so much about myself as a coach and a teacher. That group of athletes helped me to grow and lead in a whole new way. I still keep in touch with most of them as the prepare to graduate high school and others are in their first year of college.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to pay off some of my debt and invest in my children’s sports. My own kids are teenagers and their habits (sports: travel baseball and comp cheer) are not cheap! I would love to not have to worry about working extra to make their dreams come true.
