Angela Shepard

I truly enjoy being able to introduce my students to new concepts and seeing their faces when they understand them. I LOVE my children!

Tell us why you became a teacher

I have always been a natural caretaker and have been a nanny since 12 years old. It was just the next step for me to begin my career in education! Children bring me such joy and the 'click' that happens when they understand a new concept is priceless in my eyes.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experience is when one of my students coming up to me to happily express they won Student of the Month. They also praised me as one of their favorite teachers and that this contributed to his honor. It is amazing to have him in my room and see him grow year to year.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would give a donation to my school because we have such low resources that all donations are so graciously appreciated. We desperately need new technology and school supplies to service all of the children in my school. I would also save some for my family's future!
