I struggled in school and wanted to make a difference for children who like me needed extra support or time to learn things. I also had a wonderful 4th grade teacher who I wanted to be like. She made such a difference in my life.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIn 2018 I was teaching a self contained class of students with Autism. That year was so amazing watching students grow. I loved being able to help students develop social skills. Eating lunch with my students and teaching them to use a fork and k ife along with how to have conversations. Teaching students with special needs is a challenge but brings me joy!
What would you do with the $25,000?If I had 25,000 I would pay some bills, help my son with college and buy supplies and games for my classroom. 25,000 would be life changing for me. I could help my family and students.
