Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe in the transformative power of education. Growing up, I had several inspiring educators who shaped my perspective on learning and life. They ignited my curiosity, encouraged me to think critically, and helped me discover my passions. Their influence made me realize that teaching could be a way to make a meaningful impact in the world.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was during my first year with a sixth-grade field trip to the Spyscape Museum. The excitement was palpable as students engaged in hands-on spy challenges, from deciphering codes to navigating laser mazes. Their teamwork and enthusiasm were inspiring. By the end, they declared it "the best trip ever!" Hearing their joy and seeing them learn outside the classroom reminded me why I became a teacher. That day reinforced the power of experiential learning

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the money to finish paying off my Master’s program for teaching and then put the rest towards my classroom (as I don’t get much of a budget). Anything leftover would help me get an apartment closer to where I work so I can finally move out of my parent’s house
