Angela Beward

I love being able to teach little minds, playing an important role early in their lives, and making them feel they are important.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I want to make a positive impact and make a difference in children's lives. I want children to know that they can depend on me to be a reliable adult that will be there to love, support and care for them everyday. It is satisfying to have the opportunity to shape young children's minds while seeing them grow and learn. Teaching is very rewarding when students achieve milestones and overcome challenges.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable teaching experience is when I see kindergarteners learn to read for the first time. I love to see their proud faces of surprise and excitement. It so neat and amazing when the students realize that they are actually reading words and then stories. The expressions on their faces are priceless when they achieve that goal of reading on their own. It makes being a teacher so worth it.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would pay off my debt. Then if I had any left over, I would purchase some supplies for my classroom like more books for my classroom library, science supplies for experiments, and craft supplies (glue sticks, construction paper, paint, markers, crayons, etc.) Finally, if I had any extra money left over after purchasing those items, I would take my family on a vacation that we could all enjoy together.
