Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a Science Teacher as my second career. I worked very hard in gaming and was completely devoid of human contact. So, when I decided to move on from gaming I knew it needed to be something I did just for the betterment of society. I wanted a rewarding career that I could pour myself in to. I also had to go back to school, no easy task. But with some help from my wife I had made it. Giving is the key to becoming a good teacher.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

As a middle school teacher every day is memorable. Finding new ways to connect with students can be difficult, but not impossible. One experience I thought was important was when I played a Bill Nye video in class and students directed me to Mark Rober, while Rober is fun Bill Nye is number one. My kids get it now, and often ask for Bill Nye.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The first thing would be microscopes for my classroom. Than something like a hydroponic area and possibly buy a smart board for my classroom. Also a few 3d printers and the software to go with it auto cad program would be awesome. I might pay off a few of my own bills while I was at it. Science is soo expensive and my budget is small, so I tend to spend my own money. I also might catch up on my student loans.
