Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I love seeing students grow, build confidence, and discover their potential. As a bilingual elementary teacher, I get to help kids bridge language gaps and feel empowered in both languages. I thrive on student-led, hands-on learning—whether it’s experiments or creative projects. But the best part is the relationships I build, especially when students send thank-you notes, reminding me that I’ve truly made a difference.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my favorite moments was when my students published their own book after researching animals. Seeing their pride was unforgettable! The egg drop experiment was another highlight—watching students problem-solve and learn through trial and error was inspiring. But the most meaningful experiences come in small moments—like when a bilingual student finally feels confident speaking in class or when I get a heartfelt note from a child who felt seen and valued.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would first pay off my student loan debt to gain financial freedom. Then, I’d focus on developing hands-on bilingual resources since there aren’t many available, giving my students more engaging ways to learn. I’d also invest in my own learning and growth, whether through professional development, workshops, or new experiences that make me a better educator. Lastly, I’d set aside funds for my own child’s education, ensuring she has the opportunities and resources to thrive.
