From the very beginning, my college major was elementary education. My family convinced me to take classes leading to a major that would provide a higher salary. I tried different classes but I always came back to teaching because of my love for children! I love watching students' natural excitement and wonder unfold each day. I enjoy helping them navigate social situations, while collaborating in our classroom community. I love the smiles and laughter being a teacher brings!

My most memorable teaching moment was when I initiated a student led yard sale. During that time, some classes received smart boards in their classroom, while many others did not. I wanted my students to have the same access to technology as other classrooms. Together, we developed a plan to host a carnival/yard sale with the help of parents. Students ran games, pony rides, facepainting, and sales. Together, we raised enough money to purchase our very own SmartBoard!

If I won the $25,000, I would have an ice cream party for my class to thank them for being my biggest cheerleaders. Then, I would use the money to pay off bills.
