I want to be able to help students learn and grow. It is amazing to watch students as they learn and see their faces light up.

Learn MoreMy daughter is my original why…I think I always in someway wanted to teach but after completing my business degree I got a call to come teach math in my hometown. This allowed me time with my daughter but it also gave me the opportunity to show here I could be a positive influence on others and continue to learn and grow as a person.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI’m remember having a difficult group of students and trying to figure out how to get the group to want to learn. One of the students invited me to watch him play basketball on a Saturday. I went to the game and the next week he told the class. From that point on this class changed and they were more willing to learn, and participate in class. I think some moments happen outside the classroom.
What would you do with the $25,000?My husband and I want to go on an Alaskan cruise so I know I would spend some money on this trip. I would also like to donate some money to specific charities and organizations that I have become a part of and helped raise awareness for over the last several years as a teacher. Make-a-Wish and food banks have become dear to my heart.
