There's nothing more fulfilling than seeing students and families overcome challenges. Being apart of programs like Leadership Toledo & Youth in Philanthropy Encouraging Excellence, my passion for supporting Toledo, Ohio community grew alongside the values of hard work and teamwork I learned growing up on a farm. Inspired by my mom (raising nine children), I’m dedicated to nurturing others in a way helps my students thrive & give back to the community that shaped me.

During COVID, I spent my days off helping a student with learning disabilities who had fallen so far behind, working together to catch him up so he wouldn’t feel left out or defeated. Seeing his frustration and sadness completely broke my heart, so I decided to help in every way I could. By the end, he wasn’t just caught up, his confidence returned and seeing him smile again was one of the most heartfelt and rewarding moments of my life as a teacher.

If I had $25,000, I would invest in furthering my education through certifications or courses to help me grow in marketing, technology and content creation. I’d use some of it to provide better resources for my classroom, like books and technology, to enrich my students’ learning experience. The rest would go toward helping my family, saving for travel, and prioritizing self-care to ensure I can continue giving my best.
