Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher for a reason. Way back that year,my parents have no enough financial assistance for me to continue my college education but when I asked my parents to take my college degree in education in a state university which is much lesser compared to other courses. And i told my parents to try and take a scholarship grant. To make the story short, I was admitted to that university. Studied so hard with endurance and patience. Now, I thank the Lord for this blessing that He gave me.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was when I become a public school teacher. Teaching in the public school for the first time here in the USA was not easy. Full of challenges that makes me become a real, compassionate, and dedicated teacher. I may say that teaching in this country makes me a greater version of myself and my profession. My journey is an opportunity to show, and share the knowledge and skills that I have and teach thes learners to become responsible young citizens.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Joining this event is really unbelievable for me but I'm here to take this opportunity because of some reasons. As a teacher, the pay check that I'm getting is not that much. I have many responsibilities (but well, I know everyone has,too) for my family in the Philippines especially to my mother who is 73 years old now and my 2 children. This is one of the reasons why I joined in this event. Another reason is to help my churchmates and students who are less fortunate from the Philippines.
