Tell us why you became a teacher

I knew I would be a teacher in my senior year of high school. I had been a peer helper in the CDC classroom, and I realized I wanted to teach life skills and help students prepare for the real world. I love watching my students master goals they never thought they would.

My students are publishing a book. They were so excited when News Channel 5 came to speak to them about how they felt publishing a book. I will never forget all the smiles on their faces.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to pay off several bills, buy some sensory items for my classroom, and take my son on the family vacation he deserves.
