Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have a passion for helping others learn and grow. Watching students grasp new concepts and develop their skills is incredibly rewarding. I believe education is a powerful tool that can change lives, and I wanted to be a part of that transformative process. Being able to inspire and make a positive impact on young minds is what motivates me every day!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I helped a struggling student finally understand a difficult math concept. This student had been having a hard time with fractions for weeks, and despite numerous attempts, nothing seemed to click. I decided to try a different approach by incorporating visual aids and hands on activities. After a few sessions, I saw a light bulb moment in their eyes. They not only understood the concept but also started helping their classmates. Seeing their confidence grow was very rewarding.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would give 10 percent to my local church to support their community programs and to support the building fund. The remainder would be used to enhance my classroom. I would invest in hands-on materials for my students, such as lab coats, goggles, headphones, and much more! I will additionally use the money to support my students for educational field trips and other extracurricular activities, ensuring all students have access to enriching experiences outside of the classroom.
