I love teaching because of the growth you get to see and the relationship that you build. I love seeing students succeed.

It is in my blood; I started teaching in my dad's second grade class when I was 6 years old. My dad taught 2nd grade for 30 years and my older sister currently teaches middle school. It is also my passion; I love creating a classroom family each year. I truly love when I get to teach younger siblings as well. Teaching is super hard, lots of volunteering and working on the weekends. I wouldn't choose anything else though because the reward when their eyes light up because they understand!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was when a non-verbal student spoke to me. It was just before spring break in first grade. He was headed out the door and said, "I love you." It stopped me in my tracks. I am passionate about my students and advocate for them when they can't advocate for themselves.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would pay off my son's life support bill. I'd rather take my family on a nice vacation though.
