Tell us why you became a teacher

I had some amazing teachers growing up. All through my school career, I would look back at some of those teachers, and remember what they taught me. A lot of the lessons I learned from them were not academic. I know the impact they had on me. I wanted to be that for someone else.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Right after Covid, we were back in our classrooms. There was a boy in my class who was labeled the difficult kid. His behavior was questionable, and his grades were barely above passing. That boy came into my classroom, knowing his label. He was stubborn, defiant, and scared. He was a tough nut to crack, but I will never forget the moments when he realized that he could do amazing things. The growth that year, is undoubtably the moment that will stick in my mind forever.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The $25,000 would be life changing. A lot of that money would go towards my classroom. There are many things I wish to purchase to help my students have the most amazing experiences. What is left would go towards paying off my student loans.
