I have worn many hats over the years. I came to teaching later in life. I realized that all of my experience is a good for something. I can pass on all the things I know. I was looking for my “calling” and this career allows me to use everything I’ve learned for all my experiences. I can give students richer lessons because of it.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIt’s hard to narrow it down to one event. As an elementary art release teacher I see every student from 1st through 5th grade. I love it when I see growth. It’s fantastic when a student is proud of their art work. The best thing is when a student who struggles in other areas with academics and or behavior, decides Art is their favorite and the listen and follow along. Then I know I’m reaching them.
What would you do with the $25,000?The money would give me an opportunity to improve things for my family and help with my future. It would help secure my retirement some day.
