Tell us why you became a teacher

I had both a great teacher and one that was less efficient. I know the key to our future starts with the youth. I want to be a part of helping them find themselves and their own purpose in this world. I believe the biggest differences start here in the classroom.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I had two students in my Kindergarten class, one whose name was Teddy, the other Joseph (wheelchair bound) and a love for The Roosevelt presidents. I quickly made connections with the Teddy due to his name and made him fully aware of he was named after. I introduced to FDR. I fostered the connection between them, and they would go around calling themselves the Roosevelt cousins with presidential material. they would even walk around and say, " walk tall & carry a big stick". it was awesome.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would take care of my student debt from college to become a teacher, my car loan, make a sizeable donation to the school I work for, so students won't go without, and pay for 5 students who were not able to go on our 8th grade out state (science & Social studies) field trip to Washing DC, VR in April. It would absolutely be life changing money; I would ensure to bless others as much as I would be blessed.
