Tell us why you became a teacher

Children are the best individuals to work with because their innocence and innate sense of wonder create an environment filled with curiosity, joy, and boundless potential. From a young age, I knew I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. Being a teacher allows me to combine my passion for learning, creativity, and building meaningful connections with my students. Every day in my classroom, I strive to create a safe, engaging space where children feel valued.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience has been the privilege of traveling the world and teaching students from diverse backgrounds. It has been truly inspiring to witness how, no matter where I am, children share the same beautiful innocence, curiosity, and eagerness to learn, grow, and spread love. These experiences have reinforced for me that teaching transcends borders and cultures, and it’s the joy and wonder of children that make this profession so rewarding.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I was awarded $25,000, I’d start a high quality online channel focused on reading and foundational math skills, giving children everywhere free access to essential learning tools using only an internet connection. I’d also use part of the funds to pay off student loans, as teaching isn’t a high-paying profession, and invest in my own well-being. Prioritizing self-care allows me to show up as my best self for my students and family, creating a lasting impact both in the classroom and beyond.
