Tell us why you became a teacher

With the goal that everyone regardless of income, social class and/or background I decided to become a teacher to bring education to all. Growing up in a border town with limited resources inspired me to pursue a career in early childhood education. I believe that every child has rights and every child has a right to a quality learning environment. Children are the future of the world and they possess an eagerness to learn and grow, as an educator I dedicate my career to our children.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was when a student in my class was struggling with expressing their feelings due to a change in environment so I helped them feel more welcome and I allowed a safe space. This is the kind of energy I want to show everyday to children that learning can be fun they can trust me to help them learn.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would pay off my student loans and buy myself a newer car because transportation truly is a big part of my life that allows me to visit those far from me like my parents and allows me to practice self care like visiting the beach and reach nature environments not near me that help me remember what kind of future I want to inspire!
