Tell us why you became a teacher

I chose to pursue a career in education driven by a deep commitment to fostering intellectual growth and personal development in our youth. As an educator, I am passionate about creating an environment that encourages critical thinking, inspires curiosity, and equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in an increasingly complex world. I believe that teaching provides a unique opportunity to positively impact individuals focusing using the whole child approach.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of the most rewarding and memorable aspects of my teaching career has been when former students return years later to share how much my guidance positively impacted their lives. Hearing them express how the lessons I imparted helped shape their personal and professional journeys is both humbling and gratifying. These moments, often occurring a decade or more after they’ve left my classroom, serve as a powerful reminder of the lasting influence a teacher can have.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would strategically invest in enhancing the educational experience for my students, ensuring that every child has access to the resources they need to thrive. I would prioritize stocking my classroom with a diverse range of leveled readers to accommodate varying reading levels and foster a love for reading among my students. I would also prioritize investing in supplemental materials for science and social studies so students can learn hands on while learning!
