I strongly believe that Democracy is not only a system of government; it is a way of life. As John Dewey (1940) discusses, democracy requires active participation that brings out the best in people, such as critical thinking and intellectual humility. I knew that I wanted to help prepare future generations to participate not only in the market but also in our democracy!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceEvery year seeing my High School seniors expressions when they learn what it means to live in a Democracy and allowing them to engage in thoughtful, respective, and critical discourse about our society.
