I became a teacher because my 5th grade teacher had such a huge impact on my education. I wanted to be just like him. I wanted to be the teacher that motivates, encourages, and reassures students they are capable of anything.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching moment was when I received a new student who had pretty strong behavior problems. The student wouldn’t do their work, was always instigating fights with others, and would shout out constantly. One day I pulled the student to the back table to work with them and made them walk me through the steps of a problem they got it correct and i told them how proud I was and it changed their attitude. At the end of the year they told me she was grateful I didn’t give up on them.
What would you do with the $25,000?First I would buy snacks and new items for our dojo store for my students. After I would spend some on a nice vacation with my family.
