Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to make a lasting impact on children's lives. I am driven by a passion to inspire and empower the next generation. I naturally connect with students and simplify complex concepts, helping them thrive academically and personally. Watching their growth and seeing them flourish as they grasp new ideas is incredibly rewarding. I'm deeply committed to nurturing their potential, fostering a love of learning, and supporting them as they reach their full potential.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable moments as a teacher was returning to school after being sent home sick. My students greeted me with warmth and concern, expressing how much they missed me and asking how I felt. Their genuine care was truly heartwarming. That same day, we had a breakthrough as a class in understanding fractions. It was a powerful reminder of the deep connection we share, and how moments of personal care and academic growth can intersect to create lasting impact.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would purchase new tables and flexible seating for my classroom. My current school space is quite limited, and having the right furniture that promotes movement would significantly improve student engagement and learning. This would allow students to choose seating that best supports their learning style. I would allocate a portion of the funds to pay down my student loans as I work toward my master’s degree in Principalship from the University of Northern Iowa.
