I love teaching because I show every student they have the potential to be a scientist—proof they can carry with them for life.

Learn MoreI became a teacher because I loved learning physics and was surprised to learn many don’t enjoy it. Inspired by my fantastic high school teacher, I committed to making science accessible and enjoyable for all, ensuring students discover the excitement and wonder it holds.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceSending my first 9th-grade class to graduate was deeply rewarding. Teaching them biology as freshmen, physics as juniors, and AP Bio as seniors allowed me to witness their growth into incredible young adults. Seeing so many pursue biology majors reinforced the lasting impact I’ve made in their lives.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would take 3D design and programming courses to grow as a teacher. I’d also support the robotics program I helped found by funding team t-shirts and needed materials. Lastly, I’d invest in a school farm with an aquaponic system where students could grow vegetables and raise chickens and fish—creating a hands-on way to learn about sustainability and science.
