Being an educator has given me so much joy. Teaching preschool is the best because we lay the foundation for students educational journeys.

Tell us why you became a teacher

It has always been my dream since I was a little girl. I was an older cousin and would teach all of them, and playing rock school with friends I was always the teacher. My dream was to always help others in an influential way. At first I wanted to be pediatrician or a teacher and the funny thing is I thought I will be in school to long to be a doctor, but I have learned as an educator you never stop learning. I have worked to receive my Masters Degree and working on my Ed Specialist Degree.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One small group lesson we were practicing writing the students name and one of my students started to cry and he said I don’t now a how to write letters, I said you will get it don’t worry, so as I was working with him and showing how to write each letter he was still not sure if himself and when we were done and he looked at it He yelled Mrs. Jones I can write my name!!!!! He was so excited and gained confidence to continue on his own.

What would you do with the $25,000?

My goal is to open a gym for children, as parents workout children need a place to workout as well and work on their bodies and build confidence while getting healthy.
