I was always that student who hid in class. You never wanted to be called on for an answer or to read aloud. I became a teacher to help reach those students. The ones that try not to be seen. I hope every student feels seen in my class. Plus, I am a giant math and science nerd. I try to make math and science as fun as possible.

At the start of every school year, my alter ego comes to school to teach lab safety, which is more like what not to do. I show up in a wig, lab coat, shorts, and Crocs. Then, I perform a lab experiment modeling good and bad lab protocols (mostly bad). The students love the outfit and I try and complete fun demonstrations during this process. I dropped money in a clear liquid for one year, and it caught fire but didn't burn the money. The students always seemed to love the elaborate demonstration

I feel every great teacher is going to have the same answer. I would spend some of the money on things for my classroom. I could always use more prizes and manipulatives for my math and science classes. The rest of it would be spent on a trip. I would love to take my kids to Disney World for a week. Then I would take a trip with my wife to Europe. We are both big Harry Potter fans. We would love to see some of the places it was filmed.
