One of my favorite things about being an educator is having the opportunity to build authentic connections with students in the classroom and beyond. Those moments result in inspiring messages like this one I received from a parent of my former middle school student: “To see you still vibing with your students and making them feel seen brought so much joy to my heart.” 🥲😊
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience.Wow… the most memorable teaching experience for me right now is having a dance - off with my students and the recording go viral overnight! It really focused the spotlight on the importance of relational capacity in education and how it can be fostered through positive interactions like the moment from the video.
What would you do with the $25,000?Hmmm, 25k, let’s see. I will invest a portion (gotta save some 😉). Then I will most definitely book a flight to Los Angeles, California and celebrate with my daughter, since she says I don’t ever take time off because I love going to work 🤷🏽♀️), remodel my classroom space to create a more dynamic and engaging learning environment for myself and my students, and launch an afterschool arts enrichment initiative.
