Learn MoreWitnessing the incredible growth of my students. From the moment they nervously select their instruments in 5th grade to the exhilaration of opening their instrument case for the first time, I am privileged to accompany them on a journey of musical discovery. As they progress, from tentative beginners to confident performers, culminating in their senior performances, I am continually inspired by their dedication and progress. It’s immensely rewarding to see them evolve into young adults.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience. My most memorable teaching experience occurred two years ago when our band advanced to the state marching contest. Stepping onto the field from the Alamodome tunnel was surreal, a moment shared with my dedicated students and staff. It marked the culmination of years of hard work, countless performances, and meticulous planning. Our students continue to draw on that achievement as they strive for future successes.
What would you do with the $25,000?If awarded $25,000, I would first celebrate with my students by hosting a memorable party filled with cake, games, and laughter. Then, I would prioritize quality time with my family, including my husband, who is also a band director, and our children, by taking a well-deserved vacation together.
