Jaime Catlett

I am an elementary teacher. I've had cerebral palsy since birth but that does not slow me down. You will not find a greater teacher then me.

What is your favorite part of being an educator?

Being with my students each and every day. watching them struggle, then, work hard, and then understand. I love the excitement that my students share with being in school.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience.

My most memorable teaching experience would be becoming a teacher even though there were many obstacles to overcome because of my disability. To my students, it does not matter that I walk with armband crutches. I show my students each day what you can achieve if you want enough.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I live in a very small rural farming town, many of my students have not had many opportunities outside of farming. I would love to bring more science, stem, and field trips to our small school. This would allow so many opportunities to my community and my students. I would build a home of my own. So, I can continue to live and work here.Thank you for amazing opportunity.
