The absolute best part is building connections with my students and learning who they are so I can help meet their individual needs. The reward is when I can see them grow from the start of the year to the end and all of the amazing progress they make in 3rd grade. It’s so incredibly satisfying to watch them become so proud of themselves and see all they have accomplished!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience.My most memorable experience is when we have our book tasting each year during Read Across America Week. I transform the classroom into StarBooks and the students can “taste” all of the new books I was awarded from a grant while sipping on hot chocolate. Every year students tell me how much they loved that event and that it’s a favorite memory. It really helps build a love of books and generates interest in reading something new!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to use this money to put towards my daughter’s college fund! Education is such a priority in our family, but it’s also so expensive! This would be incredibly helpful. I would also use a portion to donate to ALS research because we lost my incredible mom, also a teacher, to this horrific illness. Thank you for your support!
