Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I fell in love with teaching while helping my own children learn. Having struggled in school myself, I developed a passion for supporting students who face similar challenges. I understand their frustration and want to help them see their potential, build confidence, and achieve success. Teaching allows me to turn my past struggles into a purpose, inspiring students to persevere and thrive despite obstacles.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was helping a student who struggled academically and emotionally to find confidence. Through patience, encouragement, and personalized strategies, I watched them grow from frustration to pride as they achieved goals they once thought were impossible. Years later, they sought me out as they prepared to graduate and invited me to their graduation. Seeing their journey come full circle reminded me of the impact teachers can have and why I chose this path.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would create a "Dream Lab" at our school a vibrant, multi-sensory space designed for innovative learning and creativity. The lab would include STEM kits, art supplies, interactive technology, and a quiet corner for mindfulness activities. It would host workshops, mentorship programs, and creative challenges tailored to our students' needs. This space would empower students to explore their passions, embrace their potential, and dream beyond the classroom walls.
