Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have always loved learning, and wanted to instill that love for learning in the children I teach. I have also always felt most in my element when working with children, and with everything I am able to teach my students, I believe we have so much to learn from children because they are able to see the magic of the world when we forget it’s there.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I think my most memorable teaching experience was with one of my preschoolers in my classroom this year who has a hard time with regulating her emotions when something does not go her way. On a particularly bad day for her when she had worked herself up into an emotional meltdown, after giving her time to calm her body, I was able to get down to her level to remind her when she has these overwhelming feelings she is can always find a quite place in the class to calm herself down before returning

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would begin with paying off my loans from college, take care of car payments and rent, and also probably use money to travel. I think we sometimes get comfortable in our everyday routines and I am understanding that being able to experience and exist in the world is majorly important to taking care of myself and would allow me to learn more about the world around us. We are life long learners and we need to take every chance we can to do exactly that.
