I love the unexpected challenges working with high schoolers brings day to day. I also love seeing the wonder of science come alive in them.

I became a teacher because of my love for science and the impact my passionate educators had on me. They sparked my curiosity and taught me to think analytically and problem-solve. I believe teaching isn’t just memorizing facts—it’s applying concepts through hands-on experiences. I aim to form lasting relationships with my students, guiding them to success. I became a teacher to make a difference, give back to my community, and shape the minds of future generations.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most rewarding teaching experience is working with my EL students, teaching them both language and content simultaneously. Watching them grow, gain confidence, and excel in chemistry and English is incredible. Seeing them outperform their non-EL peers and witnessing the light in their eyes when they finally understand the material is deeply fulfilling. It illustrates how powerful personalized instruction and differentiation is for helping every student grow and learn.
What would you do with the $25,000?With $25,000 I would pay on my student loans, get some new science equipment for my classroom (we have a dwindling budget each year), and possibly arrange a field trip for my students. We have no budget for a science field trip, and the prices of renting busses is astronomical.
