Tell us why you became a teacher

a teacher inspired me. I looked forward to school every day. She was more than her title, but a safe haven, a mentor, a shoulder to lean on, you could feel her care and passion

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

A student wrote to me when he left and said “Ms. Brooke, I loved your classroom and I wish I was there right now. You were the light to my dark. I miss that” at that time I worked with students with Emotional Disturbance at The Bradley Center in Robinson. I could see the difference I made

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the 25,000 I would donate 10,000 to The children’s Institute of Pittsburgh (where I work) to provide sensory/movement items for the students. I would use the other to pay for my schooling
