Register NowI was working at a coffee shop after majoring in Communications in college. I decided I wanted to change my life purpose. I went into teaching after having a change of heart and fell in love with kindergarten.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThis year has been the most memorable because of my ESOL student. She is from Puerto Rico, like me, and it warms my heart to see her face light up every time I help her by speaking Spanish with her. She has grown and made so much progress. My goal is to be the teacher I needed when I first came here not knowing the English language.
What would you do with the $25,000?It would help me with moving out of a flood zone and I would donate a portion to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. My husband and I’s house flooded twice during Hurricane Ian and Milton and we would love to move to a secure place. I have donated to St. Jude’s in the past because it is one of my favorite nonprofit organizations.
