I became a teacher because I believe in the power of education to change lives. Teaching allows me to inspire, support, and empower young minds, helping them grow academically and emotionally. I love creating a nurturing environment where students feel valued and capable. Seeing their progress, curiosity, and confidence develop is incredibly rewarding. Teaching is more than a job—it’s a calling that allows me to make a meaningful difference every day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was incorporating my first-grade students into my wedding on October 16th. With the theme of "Q" and "U," my first-grade girls became my flower girls, and my boys were my groomsmen. They were thrilled to be part of such an important day, and it created lasting memories for us all. Their excitement and pride in participating made my wedding even more special, reinforcing the deep bond I share with my students and the joy of teaching.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would build a library for elementary students at a Title I school, providing them with access to books that foster creativity, learning, and literacy. Additionally, I would use the funds to complete a school counseling degree, allowing me to better support the mental health of my students and provide them with the guidance they need to succeed emotionally and academically. This investment would help create a positive, supportive environment for students to thrive.
