Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to help students who are struggling. I want students to feel confident and safe in my classroom. I want students to always thrive to be the best version of themselves and if they are ever feeling overwhelmed I want to help them and give them as many resources as they need to be successful. My kindergarten teacher inspired me to become a teacher because she always there to help me especially when I was struggling. I am trying to the same for my students everyday.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was when a student was really struggling to read and below level. I would work with this student during small group and one on one. Now this student gets so excited to grab and book and show me the words he is able to read. It is such a joy and overwhelming feeling seeing my students overcome their struggles and continue to try their best.

What would you do with the $25,000?

This reward would be help in so many ways. I would be able buy more materials for my students and help their education to be even more successful. I would also be able to put this money towards my future.
