Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have a deep passion for helping children who are less fortunate, and those with disabilities achieve their lifelong dreams of becoming successful adults. I believe that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. Through education, mentorship, and unwavering support, I strive to provide my students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to overcome obstacles and build a successful future.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience took place when my student, during the Covid outbreak, struggled with his schoolwork virtually. He was overwhelmed, discouraged, & frustrated with his courses throughout his freshman and sophomore years. At the beginning of his junior year with little to no credits, his village, which consist of his parent and teachers, supported him! He was able to pass all his classes, earn enough credits, and graduate his senior year with academic honors!

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I win the $25,000, I would first donate a portion of the money to my Church youth department. Next, I would financially support local charities that focus on education and youth empowerment. Lastly, I would establish a scholarship to assist students with learning disabilities who aspire to become teachers.
